Acreage with privacy, views, trees, a creek or stream thought the property, lots of sunshine, yet close to town." This is the description of the property we dreamed of owning in Colorado . In January 1997 we started our search with a very specific budget and a very specific idea of what we were looking for. Our greatest challenge was doing the basic search from where we were currently living at that time - which was .
For five months Lynn sent us information on various properties that she researched for us. When we arrived in Colorado the summer of 1997 we felt we knew the area well enough to call it home. Because of the work Lynn did prior to our arrival, our time was well utilized and we found our property and with Lynn 's expertise, we were able to purchase it within our budget.
Five years later, we were living in South America . For the past four summers we came to Colorado to visit our property. Lynn was there for us every time. She introduced us to neighbors and encouraged us to approach a neighbor for a small parcel of land that would allow us easier access to our property. With the success of that additional land purchase, our goal of building a home on the property became a reality. Lynn once again assisted us and introduced us to our builder Gary Heisel. In the fall of 2002 we completed our home and celebrated our first Christmas in our Dream Home that year. Terrell & Patti Tankersley

" Lynn was our Broker in what was a very complicated Property Sale & Purchase. We had no clue to the correct legal and correct procedures of selling our property or in buying a new one - we had been in our home over 40 years. Lynn said she would take care of everything and she did - including us and helping us move. We sold our property at 8 am and purchased our new property by 10 am, without problems or concerns. "Throughout the past several years, it has been great to have someone working on my behalf. I am sure glad Lynn is there for me." Chas, Carbondale, CO
"If someone had told me it would have been this easy to sell our property from half way around the world, I would have said they were crazy. That was until I worked with Lynn . She made it seem effortless on our part. She kept us informed, faxed us monthly reports and when the offer to purchase our property came, she gave us all the right information we needed in order to make the right decision. The transaction went so smoothly and we appreciate knowing we were working with such a professional" John Stitt.
"Because of your enthusiasm and knowledge of the Real Estate market you helped us find the perfect location for Farmers Welding Inc. Your efforts and ability to keep things moving, even while we were in Texas , was greatly appreciated. Had it not been for your commitment to what you do, we would not have been able to have the sale of one property and the purchase of another come together so quickly and trouble free. It is a privilege to have a friend like you, inside and outside of the Real Estate World." Farmer's Welding, Inc.
"Your hard work, effectiveness and professionalism in selling my house and being sensitive to my needs through the entire process. My house always looked better after you were there with a showing. I knew it was safe in your hands. You met my highest expectations." Bill, Basalt, CO
"I would like to thank you for all your help and professionalism exhibited during the recent closing on my townhouse in Carbondale . Your patience with the troublesome Buyer as well as being in constant contact with me here in Denver , was invaluable. It is difficult enough to sell a home long distance, but you made it comfortable and easy." Carolyn, Denver CO
"We were most impressed with your successful efforts in selling our home in such a short period of time, when other Brokers told us it would take months to sell. We were especially impressed with the professional way the house was displayed and showed to each and every prospective Buyer." John & Anne, Grand Junction, CO
"Selling the home you grew up in, that is filled with memories can be very difficult. Lynn hand held me and my sister the entire way and made us feel comfortable in every way she could. Sharing information, being there for every showing to share with potential Buyers the history of the home, made us feel that our home was going to go to a very special person. With both of us being out of the area by the time the final transaction took place, Lynn made sure we were informed and that all the closing documents were accurate and to us in time to review with our attorney. Out of all the professionals we have had to deal with since the death of our parents - Lynn is tops on our list. She gave us 110%." Laurel & Julie, Carbondale, CO. |

Santa came a little early this year for Carbondale Special Olympian, David Hayes. Thanks to the work of a small group of his friends, Hayes, 52, can now reach out and touch his far-ranging relatives, friends and acquaintances via the Internet and e-mail.
Hayes, who with his mother, Lois, has lived in Carbondale since the early 1980's, is a well-known face around town, whether he's pushing his lawnmower to one of the many homes where he does lawn work for a small fee, or waiting for a ride to one of the many Special Olympics practices or events that he takes part in.
Hayes, 52, whose bid for Special Olympic Gold is being sponsored by Amoré Sotheby's International Realty for the second year in a row, stopped by the Amoré Sotheby's International Realty office to pick up his sponsorship check.
While there, he mentioned to Broker, Lynn Kirchner, that he wanted to be able to communicate with his nephew, stationed with a Marines Special Forces unit in Iraq. His nephew, Ian Cunningham, can only communicate by e-mail, and Hayes, who did not have a computer, asked if he could use one at the real estate office.
Kirchner, well-known in the valley for her networking capabilities and philanthropic activities, called friends who were thinking about new computers and asked if they would consider donating their old computer to the cause. She then called her husband, David Clark, director of Computers for Kids, and got his agreement to help Hayes set up a computer when one was donated.
Linda Slack from the Amoré Sotheby's International Realty office donated a computer table, and Paul Huttenhower, owner of Sopris Surfers in Carbondale, agreed to sponsor Hayes’ email service. Now, David Hayes has a computer, an email address and a place in his room to work at.
He has gotten some instruction in how to access his email and use his computer to store up the stories he writes about his Special Olympics exploits. Kirchner says she and her team of benefactors are working on a “simple instruction manual” to keep David going. Hayes’ new email address is dhayes@sopris.net. Anyone who would like to help him in his drive to become computer savvy can call Lynn Kirchner at (970) 963-5155.

Amoré Sotheby's International Realty of Carbondale is living up to its name, sharing its love and saying thanks by giving back to the community in a unique way. With every real estate transaction at Amoré Sotheby's International Realty, the client is asked to select a recipient organization, charitable event or individual to donate a portion of the sale to.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a really long time. When I went out on my own I was finally able to make it happen,” said owner/broker Lynn Kirchner, who opened Amoré Sotheby's International Realty in August of 2002. “It really makes people feel good to give something back, and lets them know that their money not only is working for them, its working for others,” she said.
The first official recipient in the gifting program was David Hayes, a Carbondale resident who has been participating in Special Olympics, including skiing, basketball and bowling for most of his 50-plus years.
“David is so special to me and all of us at Amoré Sotheby's International Realty,” says Kirchner. “We recommend David’s summer yard care services to all of our friends and clients. Always with a smile and a pleasant greeting, David is an outstanding citizen and athlete,” she continued. “He and his companion, ‘Buddie,’ represent to our clients what Carbondale is all about. We are honored to have David represent our community in the Special Olympics.” The gift will help Hayes cover his training this ski season.
David wrote in a thank you card to Kirchner, “I love to ski on our mountains, especially training with my friends at Sunlight every Friday so we can compete at the Winter Games at Copper Mountain.” His mother, Lois Hayes, added, “What a blessing to live in our community that gives David the freedom to live his life to the fullest. Special Olympic skiing has been the love of his life, and I thank you for such a generous gift.”
Kirchner and her co-workers, JoAnn Stephenson and Michael Strang, devote a fair amount of time to civic and nonprofit organizations such as Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and the Carbondale Clay Center.
“We wanted to make up for those busy times when we cannot be there physically, so a part of every transaction is ‘gifted’ back to one of these organizations, or an organization or charity of the client’s choice,” Kirchner said. |
